Therapy

We provide individual and couples therapy grounded in insight, accountability, and compassionate challenge.

For those seeking deeper self-understanding, emotional regulation, and relief from anxiety, trauma, or self-doubt. Together, we explore how your experiences shaped your patterns — and strengthen new ways of relating to yourself and others.

For partners who want to improve communication, rebuild trust, and interrupt recurring cycles. We help couples slow down conflict, understand underlying dynamics, and practice healthier ways of connecting.

Groups provide a structured space to practice vulnerability, receive feedback, and recognize shared experiences.

Workshops are designed for individuals, schools, and organizations seeking psychologically grounded tools for growth and connection.

Our Approach to Therapy

People come to therapy for many reasons — sometimes because something feels heavy, sometimes because something feels unclear, and sometimes because they’re simply tired of repeating the same patterns.

We understand that your experiences — especially early relationships, culture, and attachment histories — shape how you show up in the world. Our work emphasizes: emotional safety, interpersonal dynamics, pattern recognition, and growth through understanding.

Therapy isn’t just technical — it’s deeply relational. We use the therapeutic relationship as a space for healing and change.

CBT helps you: identify unhelpful thoughts, understand how beliefs shape emotions and behavior, and practice new ways of responding.

We use CBT to help you break cycles of anxiety, self-criticism, and avoidance — with clear, practical strategies you can use outside of sessions.

For individuals and couples, Emotionally Focused Therapy provides a process to: explore core emotional experiences, strengthen attachment bonds, and increase safety in relationships.

For couples specifically, we use EFCT (Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy) to help partners: slow down conflict, access underlying emotions, and build patterns of connection and repair. EFCT supports couples in moving away from reactive cycles and toward deeper emotional responsiveness.

IFS allows us to explore the different “parts” of you — the protective parts, the critical parts, the wounded parts — and understand how they interact.

This approach helps you: listen to your inner experience, reduce inner conflict, and strengthen your core sense of self.

We help you explore the story you carry — how you make sense of your past, your identity, and your relationships — so that you can author a narrative that supports agency and growth. This includes examining cultural, relational, and contextual factors that shaped your worldview.

Across all approaches, our work is:

Collaborative: You are an active participant in your healing — not a passive recipient.

Reflective: We slow things down to understand themes and patterns beneath behaviors.

Practical: Insight is paired with real-world tools you can use outside of therapy.

Non-Performance-Based: You are not here to “perform strongly.” You are here to be honest — and grow from that honesty.

Therapy at WorthyTherapy® isn’t about fixing you. It’s about helping you understand you — your patterns, your history, your emotional world — so you can move through life with greater clarity, agency, and self-acceptance.

Your experiences make sense. Our job is to help you make sense of them — compassionately, thoughtfully, and with support that meets you where you are.

Experiences We Support

Below are some of the experiences and challenges we most frequently help clients navigate.

Stress, worry, rumination, and inability to slow down or rest.

Feeling stuck, numb, empty, or disconnected from joy.

Past experiences that continue to shape emotional responses and relationships.

Racial, cultural, gender, and sexual identity experiences and integration.

Attachment issues, codependency, conflict cycles, and communication patterns.

Difficulty asserting needs, diffusing conflict, or protecting emotional energy.

Feeling externally successful but internally overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected.

High internal standards, fear of failure, or harsh self-evaluation.

Difficulty understanding, tolerating, or expressing emotions.

Patterns from early attachment, conflict, neglect, or relational roles that still show up today.

Career changes, relationship endings, role transitions, adulting stress.

Payment & Insurance

WorthyTherapy® is primarily an out-of-network practice.

We believe in providing intentional, individualized care that allows flexibility in treatment planning and clinical depth. For this reason, we do not contract directly with most insurance companies.

In-Network Option

We currently accept Aetna for individual therapy sessions through Headway.

If you plan to use Aetna, we can confirm eligibility and provide details during your consultation.

Please note: Aetna coverage is available for individual therapy only and does not apply to couples therapy, groups, or workshops.

Out-of-Network Coverage

For all other insurance plans, WorthyTherapy® operates as an out-of-network provider.

We do not submit out-of-network claims on your behalf. However, upon request, we can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt of services) that you may submit directly to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Many PPO or POS plans offer out-of-network mental health benefits. To better understand your coverage, you may contact your insurance provider and ask:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental or behavioral health benefits?
  • What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much has been met this year?
  • What is my coinsurance rate?
  • What is the usual and customary rate for outpatient psychotherapy (CPT code 90834)?

Reimbursement rates vary by plan. We encourage you to contact your insurance company directly to understand your specific benefits.

We accept credit and debit cards, HSA/FSA cards, and electronic payments. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged in advance.

If you are using out-of-network benefits, we are happy to provide a superbill upon request for you to submit directly to your insurance provider.

If you have questions about fees or payment options, please feel free to reach out prior to your first session so we can provide clarity.
