Oyinda Jemilawon, LMSW PhD (c)

Therapist

Oyindi is a Licensed Master Social Worker with experience providing compassionate, client-centered support to individuals and families navigating emotional distress, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, family conflict, life transitions, and crisis-related concerns.

About Oyinda

Oyindi has supported clients across hospital, community-based, child welfare, and outpatient therapy settings, helping them manage difficult emotions, strengthen coping skills, improve communication, and connect with appropriate resources.

Her approach is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive. As a Nigerian immigrant, she understands the importance of culture, identity, family dynamics, and lived experience in the healing process. She strives to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to explore their experiences without judgment.

Oyindi uses evidence-informed interventions including trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, grief counseling, anxiety and depression management, strengths-based practice, and person-centered treatment planning. Her goal is to help clients feel supported while developing practical tools to manage stress, process difficult emotions, strengthen relationships, and move toward meaningful change. She works alongside clients at their own pace, helping them build insight, resilience, and confidence as they navigate life’s challenges.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from CUNY Brooklyn College and a Master of Social Work from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University, where she is also currently pursuing a PhD in Social Work.
